Meeting the Challenges of Decontamination
The Steelco NCG Sensors are another breakthrough for patient safety. It is the first sensor that is able to measure the amount of non-condensable gases (NCGs) in every steam sterilisation process, along with evidence-based steam sterilisation monitoring.
Current practice is that the amount of NCGs is usually measured during the commissioning and the installation of the steriliser, as well as periodically. This means the NCG-measurements are a snapshot which means that the actual amount of NCGs is not truly known during daily processes.
In standards worldwide, the maximum limit of NCGs is specified at 3.5 % in 100 ml of condensate (EN 285:2015 and ANSI/AAMI ST79: 2017). During the development of standards in the 1960’s, no method of measuring the amount of NCGs in steam sterilisation chambers was available. With the NCG sensor this is now possible.

Automatic Data Processing
The NCG sensor operates and measures independently from the steriliser and is connected to a validation port of the steriliser. Every process is registered and stored in a digital file.
Independent Measurements of Every Process
Monitors in every steam sterilisation process the physical steam composition in the location that really matters: in the sterilisation chamber, instead of the steam feed to the chamber.
Reduction of Production Time
Makes the daily steam penetration test and routine vacuum test obsolete. This results in a reduction of energy consumption, use of staff resources and prolongs the lifespan of the steriliser.
